Edwin Cordova
Mr. Cordova is an experienced attorney in civil, commercial, and real estate law. He received his first degree as an attorney in his native Peru, back in 1992 where he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Catholic University of Peru School of Law. He taught Contracts and International Trade Law for many years at his alma mater.
Under the civil law system he has advised businessmen and corporations as to how to achieve their goals, acting as legal counsel to Board of Directors and shareholders’ meetings; advising his clients with reorganization and liquidation of corporations, leasing, contracts negotiations, breach of contracts, debt collections, and conflicts resolution. He has represented corporations in complex litigations, and had argued before the Court of Appeals in Lima, and the Supreme Court of Peru.
Before graduating as an attorney in Florida, he worked at the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Florida, in the Multi-State Litigation Unit of the Economic Crimes Division, participating in investigations against businesses and big corporations for unfair and deceptive trade practices.
He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Nova Southeastern Law School and is admitted to practice law in Florida, and at the Federal level at the U. S. District Court, Southern District of Florida.
Mr. Cordova has practiced in all stages of foreclosure litigation and bankruptcy related issues, either representing the banks, servicers, as well as borrowers. His knowledge and experience with foreclosure issues allows him to advise his clients as to the best loss mitigation option available and the best outcome for his client. He is committed to serving his clients, and prides himself on the level of service he provides to each client.
His dedication to his community has been manifested during the time he worked as an attorney at Legal Aid Service of Broward County, as well as his participation since 2008 in the School Advisory Council Committee at his children’s school.
